Born in the year 1973, Guo Jingyu is a Mainland China award-winning scriptwriter, director and producer. He is a member of the Tenth Virtue Arts Television Drama第十届全国德艺双馨电视艺术, as well as the committee director of the Youth Working Committee of China Television Drama Production Industry Association 中国电视剧制作产业协会青年工作. Been in the industry for 25 years, his scriptwriting and directing works include television series: ‘Iron Pear’, ‘Red Lady’, ‘Dog Stick’, ‘Brave Heart’, ‘Yangko Dance’, ‘Mother’s Life’, ‘Perfect Youth’, ‘The Little Nyonya’ and many more. Furthermore, Guo Jingyu is also the producer of The Ferryman series, the television drama “The Legend of the Condor Heroes”, the 2020 version of “Handsome Siblings”, and the original online movie series “I am from Beijing我来自北京”. He has been honoured the title ‘Legendary Drama Series King’ in the industry, having consistently breaking records and delivering high performance ratings and award-winning television series loved by the audience. To date, he is still insisting on creating his own original scripts, dwelling into plot details and rhythm while at the same time, focusing on implementing and promoting traditional Chinese cultures and values of loyalty, filial piety, chastity and righteousness through his works. Guo Jingyu has won prestigious awards including: the ‘Flying Apsaras Award’, the ‘Golden Eagle Award’, the ‘Five-One Project Award’, the ‘Magnolia Award’ and the ‘Huading Award’ among many others. In 2011, Director Guo Jingyu was named among 20 other directors who made significant contribution to the Chinese television industry for the past 20 years.
